Oi mate, we don’t need to add regional accent discrimination to the list of problems Linux is having.
Personally I found that video quite informative and it explains a lot of the issues with Wayland implementation (but I also work a lot with Brits and Aussies so I have no issues understanding their accents).
I didn’t, but only because I couldn’t understand a single word that guy uttered. I would have to amplify it to the max and slow it down by 50%, but if I did that, the other guy’s voice would have killed me.
Mind you, English is my second language, I learnt it as mostly an adult. I sometimes have trouble understanding native speakers, but a guy with a thick foreign accent, who mumbles and has lisp… Sorry, but that’s completely inaccessible to me.
Like I said, I’m sure they’ve made some great points, but they are beyond my reach.
Brodie has an Australian accent, and David has a British regional accent (can’t tell you exactly which one).

My guess is that the AI that generates captions decided that their voices are just too unpleasant and gave up.
All depends on the clip and I would not use these as the end translation - I’ve seen several clips with subs enabled but they were not saying what was being said even when it was on the video in text at the same time
