Ya i was reading and it seems to be a common issue.
I put in for a request to add it as a wiki entry in case anyone encounters the issue. Its a simple fix but if you dont know what is going on or even have a starting point its hard to figure out
edit: ideally there would be a simple way to change the settings added to xrandr but that hasnt changed in 2yrs since the main reddit topic i found for it was 2 yrs old
