ISPs around the world!

It’s a little funny. Here there are not so big differences in price of 10Mbps and 10Gbps. I know it doesn’t look like it in all of Sweden. But usually there are not so many differences in price.

Here is a fast line in Sweden with price:

Now not everyone can have that speed in Sweden.

I pay $40 USD for 1gbit/s (1000mbit/s). $6 more for 10x the speed? I’m down

LOL! They’re real wise frogs!

I know it’s been a while since I wrote in this thread and a long time since I wrote at all. Had a lot to do.

I have now changed ISP to Bahnhof. Had them for a few weeks already. I took 1000 up/down.

For those of you who do not know, Bahnhof is a Swedish ISP that fights for privacy and an open internet. I’m happy with them so far!

We have had 1000 up/down for at least 10 years now. So the next step was 10,000. If you have a registered company, you can have 10x the speed. 100,000.

Should be enough for most people. I do well at 1000 up/down. I am around 940 in both directions on a cheap router from MikroTik:

I have 500 service but i get over 600. I can only get 1500 Mbits/s The cost is $129.99 Cdn/Month + 13% taxes for the highest speed. So i am slightly less @ -$20.00

Edit: Speed up & down is good.

Edit2: My router is supplied as well and own it after two years of service since 2011 and it does all Internet, Wifi and TV.

Rarely do you usually use that speed anyway. More if you want to brag or the like. I use a few TB a month with data. Usually do not change although I get faster or slower either. But good if you download larger files sometimes.

These speeds are fast compared to most offerings out there but i have true Fibre Optic cable direct into the house. :grinning:

We have fiber to switch. Then out with Cat6 to our outlet:

My old router. Have it left as a backup router if something happens.

Mine is different. I have fibre coming in and then i have network out to the router. The Fibre optic unit has it’s own battery back up mounted on the wall also.

I like to look at pictures with different networks that people have at home. Thank you for sharing!

Am I reading it correctly that one of the pairs of 1.5mm cabling says Dishwasher? That would be illegal here; we have to have 2.5mm 3-core to everything except lighting.

Not sure what you’re referring to - but did you know our household current is only 110-120? You’re probably on 220-240, right? Might explain it…

True that. Didn’t realise the canucks were also on the 110v 60Hz. But what about earthing? Are there seperate earthing cables at the powerpoint?
