Install "kio_recoll"?

Please don’t get me wrong.

I would assist you if was able to test build the package myself to be able to give you appropriate instructions.

That PKGBUILD is old and most probably the dependencies mentiond in it also are “old”.
So as I mentioned above, perhaps those need to be changed as well so the developper might be able to give you the answers you need.

I did not understand that you are doing or saying anything bad!
You did your best and I really appreciate it.

You are not supposed to build a package on your machine that you do not need… it will take much of your time, effort, and storage. I sure understand this. Don’t worry.

Hopefully AUR maintainers would attend to it soon.
I will try installing later (in a few weeks or months) anyway.

Thank you.
I really appreciate all your time and effort.
You did your best.

Wow, you got it finally! Congrats!

Remove kio_recoll folder from before under your home directory and try building it from scratch as per instructions I posted here: Install "kio_recoll"? - #25 by pebcak

with the exception of the point 4. Do this instead:

4. updpkgsums

If you don’t have pacman-contrib installed, install it first before running the above.

done and went fine

yay -S pacman-contrib

limo@lenovo kio_recoll]$ updpkgsums

So, I understand it is already installed.

But, the whole story I wanted to install “kio_recoll” that I wanted to search for files by content from Dolphin, which is not returning any results. I get the results for the same search from Recoll app, but not from Dolphin (search by content).

Do I need to configure Dolpin somehow to let it use Recoll for content search? How?
Sorry I am taking lots of questions and taking much of your time and effort.

It certainly does look like so.

Well, now I have to throw in the towel

I only test KDE Plasma rather occasionally and mostly out of curiosity.

I don’t know what your next steps should be.

same here … curiosity. But I think curiosity here and about Linux wont kill the cat… I hope!

OK… at least we tried and you did great… you did the mission impossible of installing “kio-recoll”… I will just have some rest and see the other story to get Recoll work with Dolphin.
