This just came to my mind. What distro would your either go back to or jump into? I would probably go back to Debian or Debian-based, maybe even Ubuntu. But if I would stay in the Arch-meadows maybe CachyOS or maybe just “pure” Arch. But if I would go completely nuts I could give Gentoo a try, to be specific, this one: https://www.mocaccino.org/
I would remove the Endeavouros repository and continue using it as Arch. If, for some reason, that didn’t work I would have to decide between a pure Arch install or going back to Tumbleweed. I suppose I could try Cachy.
Damn, I didn’t even think about that option. That’s actually something I have to keep in mind.
Go deep into the archives and dust off the old Arch install script I had made. I would have to probably just use it as a template for a new one.
I hope that EOS devs will push a script that switches EOS to Arch Linux, like Erik Dubois did with his Arco Linux. ![]()
I think some Antergos users simply removed all Antergos specific packages and used it as an Arch install (and even added the EndeavourOS packages to it). This is what I did years ago, and I still have that install in use.
But as said above, you can remove all EndeavourOS specific packages and repo and start using the system as an Arch system. I haven’t tried that lately, but it may involve some small additional fiddling.
ArchBang, Artix or Linux Hub would be my Arch based go to distros if EOS ceased to exist. I already have them installed alongside my EOS install.
Just searched for ArchBang because I didn’t know this distribution. Thought I was on a hacked website … ArchBang is now GreenBang … Strange renaming. ![]()
I’d just remove the endeavouros repo, then remove all foreign packages. Then, I’d basically have an Arch system. For future installs, I guess I’d use archinstall, maybe Arch Linux GUI if I’m doing more complex partition management.
If Arch as a whole ceased to be on the other hand, to openSUSE Tumbleweed I go I guess.
Oh wow! Been using ArchBang for a good while and did not know that Mr Green had changed the name. Basically the same distro with a new name. Good to know.
Definitely either Mint, or pure Arch. Leaning towards Arch, although the older I get, the more I really just need things to be stable and dependable. For the most part, EOS/Arch has been just that. Mint may fit older-me better eventually, I have no ego to bruise and nothing to prove.
Not a fair question for someone who makes their own Arch Linux based system.

However, without this community, I would be far less informed of the Arch world! ![]()
I have various distro I use, but my main is EOS. In the unfortunate case he closes (I sincerely hope not, it is difficult to find a community so willing to help, in addition to the fact that the distro itself is very valid) I would first try to remove the repositories of EOS and leave only those of Arch, otherwise I would go to Arch “Vanilla” and I would set it for my use.
I also have Debian 12, which maybe I will replace with the 13 as it is about to go out.
To be a little more certain to avoid the discourse closures, I have at least one “mother” and not derived on my pc. It is unlikely that Arch or Debian closed, unlike other projects.
I also was not aware of the name change.
By the way, on the GreenBANG FAQ page:
What is your favourite Arch spin off?
Has to be EndeavoursOS gets better with every release.
Nice!
Don’t jinx it.
.
My
did break once, I don’t want my
to break also.
Most likely I would go back to pure Arch. ![]()
Well all i can say to this is

This must NEVER happen!

Haven’t thought of that, and hopefully don’t need to worry about it.
If so, I think I will take a look into CachyOS, have read good things about it, or try my luck with Arch.
what ? no1 gonna go back to windows ??

I hope that day never comes but if it does i would continue using my EOS install and remove eos repo.
For a new install i would go plain Arch as Arch Linux in general feels very good to me.
I would certainly miss this forum though! Never seen such nice community where i just felt “at home”
