I’m not responsible for any damage you end up doing to your system (if any).
PREREQUISITES
Windows is installed
Universal USB Installer 2.0.0.1 (specifically this version as it has the ability to install on drives (also will be referred to as UUI for convenience’s sake))
HOW-TO
Get the EndeavourOS ISO.
Open diskmgmt.msc and create a new 4GB partition and call it EOS_202406 otherwise it will refuse to boot. Make another one for the system itself.
Open UUI and select Arch Linux in the first dropdown. Then, select “Show all ISOs?” and select your ISO.
Let it do its thing and restart your PC
Boot into the BIOS and turn off Secure Boot and restart into UEFI OS (at least it’s called that on Asus)
Boot into any one of the options for you.
That’s all! Enjoy using Endeavour.
also do note that if anything breaks the endeavour iso is still a partition that you can boot from if any breakage occurs
if you wanna replace windows just don’t make an empty partition and install endeavour on the c drive
That’s neat. Thanks for discovering this and sharing it. I do think that it will be better if you were to just get a USB flash drive and put EndeavourOS on it, but this can be a way too, I guess?
At least in Europe, hypermarkets have a small section dedicated to technology. That’s where you get some USB flash drives. Google is your friend here, though.
Yer like this might be great for people with no other choice but when you shared you live in UK and make out USBs to be an issue makes me question the whole post. TBH I think this is spam/clickbait waiting to switch with the payload (I could be way off this is just how this whole post feels)
Yeah, USB thumbdrives aren’t exactly lost archeotech just yet here in Britain
My usual go to for when I inevitably lose track of one of the absolutely countless USB sticks I’ve owned over the years is just to grab whatever is cheapest off of My Memory, although at the moment I’m rocking a very handy dual USB A/C model I picked up from who even knows where.
Yer I’m in oz but whole thing appears off, giving it benifit of doubt for now as they may live in a rural area but even mixed with the services available makes me question stuff
