How do I set up Howdy?

The Arch wiki is pretty simple up until the PAM section, at which point it’s pretty much figure it out yourself. Which PAM modules do I need to edit to get Howdy working, and which settings do I add per module?

I’m using GNOME + GDM in case it matters.

Thanks a lot :]

That is the article I refer to in the body of my post
It makes a lot of sense up until the PAM modules.

This might help, if you didn’t go through it already?

I am struggling with this. Even though howdy is installed, when I log in or use sudo, howdy doesn’t start. I try adding ‘auth sufficient pam_python.so /lib/security/howdy/pam.py’ to some files in /etc/pam.d/ but it seems like it doesn’t work

Have you managed to make it work? I also have trouble guessing which PAM I have to edit

welcome to zthe purple side @Pikaloid :enos:

may no one will reply here as it is a very old thread already… best is to create a new one and give exact info on the issue … may refer to this old one as a reference if needed.
