Help needed instaking dkms nVidia driver

cause now the nVidia kernal modules should update along with the kernel, right?

Evert time you update the kernels, the post-update hooks will automatically install the dkms modules. The drivers themselves will update with the package nvidia-dkms.

The installer script is very helpful in detecting your graphics card and making sure you install the correct drivers (but we didn’t actually need it).

Hey finally found your post. So in a nutshell for safety’s sake create a snapshot, comment that one line out, run the one command, reboot and see what I get?

It won’t hurt to try, if you have a snapshot.

I’m not sure whether it will do what you want.

* **GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU** Some people may wish to create a hierarchical menu structure of kernels for the GRUB menu screen. This key, along with some additional configuration of the kernel stanzas in **grub.** **cfg** allow creating such a hierarchy. For example, the one might have the main menu with "production" and "test" sub-menus where each sub-menu would contain the appropriate kernels. Setting this to "false" would enable the use of sub-menus.

found that.

OK tried it and a couple of other thins and no love. Thanks for the suggestion though. I’ll just have to create a standalone thread about it. Thanks again.
