Thanks, I added this but it’s still not working. I can launch the pulse volume control from the menu. Is pavucontrol a different package?
Edit: Pavucontrol is installed. It’s not the qt version.

Brtza how does your monitor settings look in the hyprland.conf ?
example how to set the monitor output dedicated to the output name
monitor = eDP-1,1920x1080@60.000,0x0,1
monitor = HDMI-A-1,1920x1080@50.000,1920x0,1
workspace = eDP-1,9 # change output name if needed
workspace = HDMI-A-1,1 # change output name if needed
#monitor = ,preferred,auto,1.0
#monitor = ,highrr,auto,1
#monitor = ,highres,auto,1
env = GDK_SCALE,1
what happens if you place a commnent ( #) in front of this line ? env = GDK_SCALE,1 ?
do a check with wlr-randr then you can see the monitor outputs you have !
nothing happened
output of wlr/randr

and it is working perfect…thanks
thats why i did ask i already tought you needed to change the resoltution
yeah, I also forgot to check that xd
go have a play with it , i created a lot of scripts wrote them all myself.
Yes, I saw… it is totally different than Jakoolits script
Yeah its , i’m not a copy cat even jakoolit has a few scripts of mine.
I got familiar with his, and now you have different scripts, keybindings etc but nice to explore and play
i’m busy with a eos iso with hyprland it boots but still has some problems , hyprland is also the enevironment when boot it , i replaced kde . and installs a few aur packages , that also works. but does show a hyprland crash screen somehow dont know why yet.
I tried this script and it completed but when i rebooted into it i just had KDE Plasma with no Hyprland?
Did you enable it in your waybar config? You have yo align it to one of the modules.
“modules-right”: [
“backlight”,
“cpu”,
“memory”,
“disk”,
“wireplumber”,
“network”,
“battery”
],
pavucontrol, is just a front end for pulsaudio volume control, but can be used with alsa and pipewire.
No i didn’t as i don’t know much about it. I’m dumb! I’ll have to reinstall it again since I’ve tried some other stuff and try again.
Edit: Thank you for the help.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all were new to tiling window managers and configuring dotfiles at one time or another. It gets easier, if you stick with it, and for me personally, I would never go back to running a DE.
Hang in there.
What i don’t understand is how you create the symbols that they show in some of the configs.
You have to use some sort of Nerd Font(s), and enable them in your style.css. Then you have to select the icons you want and paste them into you waybar config.
I would suggest looking at the generic waybar and style.css config files, which are located in /etc/xdg/waybar. Copy these files to your ~/.config folder, and do a search for Hyprland, and or, Waybar with it’s Style config and see other people have altered them.
From there try making small edits, and keep the ones you like, or undo changes that you don’t. Also the official Waybar wiki has a ton of useful info to help guide you.
From my own personal perspective, like a great many of us, I just studied other people’s dots and added various elements in learning the syntax intially. Over time, you begin to see and understand how they fit into your own, individual style. The key here, is to start making simple changes, and be willing to experiment. It may be frustrating in the beginning, but man, it’s so much fun once you get the hang of it
Yes …frustrating is the word! Right now I’m content if i can get this volume to work with scroll.
