Yeah, that game seems to be broken… Which is a pity, because it really seems fun, I watched some gameplay footage on YouTube. Beautiful graphics and a cute amphibian protagonist.
Frogs are not allowed to leave the house Because they overslept
Repo version seg faults, so far the git version hasn’t for me, but not played extensively (only up to the ants in the cellar).
Regarding the AUR git version, can you save the game, exit, start again and load the game? Does it crash?
Also, can you change the controls or video options without it crashing?
Nope crashes on loading a saved game.
Same here. Thanks for confirming it!
soooo… any news on this?
@Kresimir is clearly a frog expert here
But that being said…I’m pretty sure he’s still playing under Wine.
Yeah, I just play it under Wine. Sad.
I’m not even upset. Just disappointed.
About a year ago, I was enraged by this, but the rage has subsided and now only disappointment remains.
It works fine under Wine, I guess.
As long as the Frog can get out of the house that’s all that matters!
Good news everyone!
So i wanted to investigate the issue, because i promised it to my kid a year ago or so, but i found out that current combination of anura / frogatto works just fine - it does not crash anymore when leaving house.
(i just had to modify AUR build of anura because it pointed to wrong branch and that was all)
Wonderful news, indeed!
Thanks for the comment on the AUR page.
I will give it a try tomorrow! EDIT: Who am I kidding, I can’t sleep unless I try it now…
…aaand if doesn’t compile:
==> Updated version: anura-git 0.0.3900.g672756cb6-1
==> Starting build()...

compilation terminated.
EDIT: glm
should be added as a dependency. Then it compiles fine.
Now building frogatto-git
…
/wheris screencast?
Okay, managed to build & install anura-git
and frogatto-git
(this thing complies longer than Firefox, so much bloat )
The game works, but not without crashes. When you start a game and open the main menu with ESC selecting any option crashes:
INFO: checksum.cpp:89 : EXITING WITH UNVERIFIED SESSION
You can save the same at checkpoints and they load fine, so that’s something. Further testing is required.
It certainly is an improvement!
jes lets see in 2028 again
One day, we’ll play Frogatto on our GNU Hurd computers.
