Force Quit

I appreciate those who help me, okay? But if someone will just say “not curious enough to run it to terminal”… I guess people could figure out that the reason why someone ask the question is because they don’t know yet those stuffs?

I’ve use AntiX, MXLinux, Mint, ZorinOS, LMDE, Xubuntu, Lubuntu but never been replied with something like this.

Now, suggesting to use MacOS I guess only Mint and ZorinOS are aware that most windows users are turning to Linux after Windows 11 launching? Or should I accept the fact that there are users who think they can just say things because they think they know a lot?

I guess I regret asking in this forum now a bit.

I think you are mal-interpreting or misunderstanding my post.

Please change your perspective and read through your own thread from the perspective of those who spend their time here freely and voluntarily to help other new users.

The way you have been asked to perform a task, that is launching a malfunctioning application in a terminal, is the normal procedure to find out the possible causes of an issue.

On top of that, EnOS is a “terminal-centric” distribution, meaning it relies on and encourages the use of terminal for performing a number of tasks.

If you are

you cannot be expecting people to know what might be going wrong on your system and expect them to help to resolve the issue.

With all that said, I wish you all the best in the future of your computing on whatever operating system it might be.

Good luck and good bye!

I’m with @pebcak on this. EndeavourOS is a terminal-centric distro with a friendly community. It prominently says so on the website.

We’ve been quite friendly with you, but you cannot be helped if you refuse to use the terminal. I’m pretty sure even the windoze support would have you open the command prompt.

They’ll do it remotely via backdoor

Ugh, that sounds unpleasant…

I also don’t know these things much as I am first-time Linux user.
.
.
I had also ran into few issues related to my desktop, and all of them got solved by advice of senior users here.
.
.
The point is that no one can see what is happening inside your system, but we can ask system to show what is going on there. That’s why @pebcak asked you for terminal outputs.
.
.
At the time of joining I was not aware of any of the commands, but the users advised me the commands and I entered them in terminal and got the required output which solved my issues.
.
.
Entering commands in terminal are not time comsuming, as you can directly copy-paste them in terminal, and get the required output.
.
.
If you don’t know what to enter, then you can ask users here, who will tell you the appropriate commands to use.
.
.
All users here come with friendly mindset to help, but the fact is that they are not the users of your system, that’s why they want the response of machine. So that they can guide you.
.
.
As I told, entering commands in terminal will consume significantly lesser time and resource in comparison with navigating here and there.
.
After my brief stay here, as of now I know many seniors here, and none of them had talked rudely, not only in my topics, but also in other topics, rather they all are fun minded and bring up fun in between the topics.
.
.
I advise you to atleast try terminal this time so that you can resolve your issue, without much hassle.
.
As a new user, I can tell you that using terminal is not daunting, and with proper explanation of the key terms, which you will receive here will help you in your situation.
.

.
Also, @pebcak is among the friendliest users here, so I am also standing alongside with @pebcak.

So far, no one has helped that I can tell. You haven’t provided information to be helped yet.

Normally people who aren’t interested in help, don’t open threads asking for help, that was all. You then say that the reason you asked the question is because you don’t know. . .

Do you not know and don’t want to know?

→ why ask then?

Do you not know and want to know/fix the problem?

→ why not provide info then?

Welcome. I hope you find what you’re looking for and good luck.

One of the issues has to do with Wine.

0024:err:winediag:ntlm_check_version ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.

Uninstall and reinstall winbind may help? I didn’t spend much time on looking at this.
