Yeh. It’s seems the problem is with the kernel! Zen works fine neither LTS or Mainline do! @ricklinux this may solve your issue…

Not wanting to be different for me everything just works as it should in live mode
but that maybe because I only use a desktop that is older is that what Linux designed to run on anyway,

The problems are with sway after you install. Mouse and keyboard problems etc;

Ok but are you shure its the ISO not users and to modern laptops are the problem I installed the Garuda version with no problems last week ?

Are you confusing wayfire with sway old friend? Garuda does not have a sway edition that I am aware of? Certainly not on the download page.

They use zen kernel

zen kernel could be added as a kernel group to netinstall.yaml:

Installed sway on v-box. Still having mouse issues but probably v-box related but had same in Qemu. I commented hardware acceleration and also set usb 3.0 in vbox and is better but occasinally freezes mouse or lags especailly on browser.

I’m using Zen to try. I’m not having success in any vm. It reminds me of why i don’t use wayland. Same issues of lag and or freeze so i get frustrated and annoyed. Maybe it works okay on bare metal but on vm i’m not having any luck. I might wipe out a desktop here later and try it on bare metal install? I could remove my Cinnamon desktop i guess and repace it with sway to try on my triple boot with rEFInd. I will think about that. Not in a rush right now. I’m not a tiling window manager user anyway. Just trying it out and help to test where i can. I really like virtual-box so it is my go to but on Arch it seems there are always update issues also with it and sometimes it doesn’t work right. When it does it is fantastic and i prefer it over Qemu and or vm-ware although i used vmware for a long time on Windows.

@ricklinux

get a pi then play and wipe out just as fast … save your main for important thing + no mess with vm

Yeah just realised you are using v-box that may be the problem unfortunately!

Thank you for testing so much! We can’t ask anymore than that and it is always useful! :hugs::hugs:.
