Failed to start kernel (lts) modules

My PC has the problem that it doesnt poweroff properly most of the time. I never have found out whats the issue. Most likley it has something to do with systemd.

The last 1-2 years I have had the workaround to use lts-kernels and shut it down with sudo shutdown -h now

Therefore I have installed the linux-lts kernel with sudo pacman -S linux-lts. It seems to work fine but nevertheless I get an error during boot.

I dont understand this stuff, therefore I wanted to ask if I have to worry about something?

you did pacman -S linux-lts, i do gues you updated the grub and mkinitcpio -P. i think there is some drivers installed in your system that you dont need. if you not have a broadcom probably that gives there error if you have something as virtualbox modules installled but it doesnt have the lts modules you can get some error. does not say systemd brake or kernel. just you dont have lts compiled package or not using dkms package in combination to use with the kernels headers files…to generate the kernel compatible modules. is just like that i gues. you have to see what you have. i cant tel , also looked half of the errer list
its just modules that already is installed dont fit with the lts module or its not a dkms with no linux-lts-headers. if you have two kernels or 3 installed i would pick the dkms modules also the kernels headers.

i think broadcom-wl driver is installed standard, its only for the ‘linux’ kernel i guess you have to review, also virtualbox related package eventually ?

Check output and see what it is showing. Try lts headers.
sudo pacman -S linux-lts-headers

sudo pacman -S linux-lts-headers

Sorry, I missed that. :disappointed:

Same thing happened to me but i have installed LTS headers

I have installed the headers but that didnt change anything.

Thank you!

This time I updated everything.

I have removed the broadcom driver. That didnt help.

I had an error about a virtualbox from the start, which I wanted to encounter after this issue. Now I have removed the virtualbox-guest-modules-arch and virtualbox-guest-utils packages and its gone. :ok_hand:t3:

Same thing here. How you remove all that?

I removed the packages with pamac

Thank you my friend. I dont understand why there is that virtual box things? As long i am hone i am going to try it

no problem, my friend.

if you are not inside a virtualboc installation
sudo pacman -R virtualbox-guest-utils virtualbox-guest-modules-arch
they should not be there but the detection of if you run inside vm or not was not working 100%, we do already solved this for the next release…

Still nothing. It wont boot

Nvidia drivers installed?

I dont have Nvidia card. Intel i have

@AndreasDimo So i ask what exactly is the problem you are having now? Your previous post said:

Do you have Endeavour installed? Is it no longer working? Can you give some detail? What is your hardware?

@makeixo Could you post some info on your system? Do you have inxi installed? If so can you post the output of your hardware.

inxi -Fxxc0

@makeixo !

Can you publish what you have in these folders?
