Ethernet limited connectivity

I keep getting ethernet connection low connectivity warnings. Also when resuming from sleep ethernet has to re connect. I don’t have windows on this pc

I have 1 GB/ sec high speed internet and the house wifi is working fine while all this goes on.

I get that too. The internet works just fine, it seems it pings the internet check page before the network has woken up. Also I occasionally get it when using my computer. The internet also works fine.

I get the Limited connectivity as well from time to time. From my understanding, it’s related to the network manager pinging archlinux website to test for network connectivity which does not return an answer fast enough (throttling ?). That said, the internet still works fine.

If you mean the Plasma connectivity checker, yep, it started constantly this week, so since I am actually capable of knowing if my connectiion is down myself, I just disabled the check.
I have meaningless notification phobia syndrome :0

For years it was a reliable indicator that the internet connection was actually down.

For the last month (?) I see it maybe once or even twice a day with the network still connected. No idea what’s going.

Delete this line in /usr/lib/NetworkManager/conf.d/20-connectivity.conf

then go to

/etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/20-connectivity.conf

and add

[connectivity]
.set.enabled=false
