EndeavourOS & Arch Live USBs fail to boot

I know how to do it but when things change and I’m not really aware of all of it i get lost in the shuffle.

Edit: I just hope it works to boot on. Then we’ll know.
Edit2: I already tested one before and it did boot up to the installer but wouldn’t run because of a user error in the Calamares setup. I guess it has to have a patch?

I have a rootfs command bash shell. Now what?

Hmm… I don’t know. I’ll test boot it myself on my amdgpu in v-box.

The nomodeset option was the only one that would give me rootfs; the others still hung.

That sounds like a broken ISO.

The ISO does boot for me.

Could Ventoy have done this? I mean, I did boot from Ventoy

Yes.

Aw crap, using Rufus now to redo this

I have one question. So i had to remove nvidia-installer-dkms and i added nvidia-inst and i also had to remove the grub2-theme-endeavouros and the ip2100 and ip1100 firmware packages when creating the ISO. So the only thing I’m not sure of is if the Nvidia is actually loading?

That is all correct I think.

I still don’t understand how to update the ISO as I’m booting it in v-box?

Edit: I used wget and the url for github site. But obviously I’m not cluing in.

Still no good

What is happening prior to you getting dumped at a rootfs prompt?

The same startx fail

Could a keyboard have done this? I’m using the Launch keyboard from System76.

Edit: Just throwing out some stuff to see if there are any issues.

Did you switch all your settings back in Bios and you are hooked to the nvidia card?

Yes

I’m out of ideas at the moment and i haven’t found any info that helps.

Well, crap. I still find it weird that ONLY Arch and Arch-based distros seem to be unbootable. I guess somebody involved in the development this distro should take a look at this to see at least what’s causing this situation…

As for me, IDK what to do; Arch was by far my favorite distro; I don’t like Fedora, Ubuntu has the terrible snap packaging, and Linux Mint & Pop!_OS don’t have KDE editions. I would choose Debian, but even Sid seems to have very old packages…

Which distro should I choose in the meantime while this issue is investigated and (eventually) dealt with?
