To verify I’m doing this right, I boot and press e on one of the boot options? All I see is lableing and blacklists of drivers. Is that right?
Should see something like this
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-linux root=UUID=704b9b1e-6fa9-4932-8726-2b39fe2ee1e5 rw quiet loglevel=3 nowatchdog nvme_load=YES
Edit: Add nomodeset after quiet in that line.
Are you able to see what it shows is blacklisted?
The default just blacklists nvidia, it has a bunch of unitrd=“file”, it adds an iso label, does some modesets and blacklist nvidia with nvidia.blacklist along with a modprobe blacklist.
Mine looks nothing like that, does it matter if I use UEFI?
So you must be booting on the default grub entry then as it would load nouveau open source drivers and not nvidia.
The nvidia one has the same but blacklists the free drivers
Are you able to get a picture of what you see?
Also just wanted you to know the other user who is having issues is related to their hardware Pci-e and usb not recognizing the usb device properly so it doesn’t read it correctly.
Edit: I see that in his last post.
That’s the full config, it seems to be the same with efi also.
That is the correct line. If you use the arrow key you can go to the enmd of that line and you’ll see. It may not have “quiet” in the live ISO. That’s just to stop displaying info unnecessarily.
Okay, should I try this in the version with or without the nvidia drivers?
With maybe first.
Edit:
This may not do anything anyway but i thought i would try it. I just wish i could see all that’s’ on the screen. It’s difficult to understand what is happening like i say i have installed every endeavour ISO created and never have an issue.
Nothing. I have a cellphone with a camera, I’ll can record anything you want me to.
Maybe you can boot the live ISO and show what’s on the screen up to where it won’t do anything? I don’t know what i can do other than that. I d have to go out for a while may 1-2 hours. I’ll look when i come back.
It would be nice to see the whole boot process from start to finish!Edit I also see that there are tow monitors hooked up. It might be better to start with only one monitor hooked up and add the other monitor when you have an installed system.
Edit: There is also a newer UEFI Bios update for this board.
Edit: Under SATA configuration in the Bios do you have drives set for AHCI mode?
the same with you.DHCP and firefox worked well.it’s a bug.
