I’ve been using EndeavourOS (EnOs) since March, and I’m loving it! One of the features that I loved the most was Dolphin remembering the last used folders, paths, etc.
Last week, I updated EnOs after a few weeks (major updates included Python from 3.10 to 3.11 and the kernel from 6.1 to 6.3), and I encountered quite a lot of things not working anymore . I managed to fix all of them apart from Dolphin…
These are the details of my system from neofetch:
OS: EndeavourOS Linux x86_64
Kernel: 6.3.2-arch1-1
Shell: bash 5.1.16
DE: Plasma 5.27.5
While trying to get Dolphin’s remembering feature back to work, I tried to:
Reinstall Dolphin.
Double-check that in Dolphin Settings, “Show on startup” was checked (also tried to uncheck, save, logout, check back).
Look for help in forums/GitHub issues.
Unfortunately, nothing solved the problem…
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Do you have any advice to solve it?
When Dolphin is configured to remember open tabs on launch, this now works again after it broke recently during the process of fixing a different bug (Méven Car, Dolphin 23.04.2. Link)
Just wait for the update…It’s the famous “KDE don’t have bugs” stuff
Hi! Thanks for letting me know about the release schedule for Dolphin 23.04.2. I hope it will fix the bug issue. I guess I’ll have to be patient and wait for a few more weeks for the bug reversion to be resolved.
Thanks again for the heads up!
That’s so true!! I’ve had to reinstall Windows dozens of times because of significant bugs that would have taken me months to fix.
Over the past few years, I’ve been switching back and forth between Windows and Linux, but I never fully made the switch due to missing essential software or the steep learning curve, especially with Debian .
However, in March, a friend recommended EndeavourOS to me, and it was love at first sight (also thanks to the incredible community that provides support for noobs like me )!!
Once again, I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the support!
