Does the old kernel get uninstalled, after a update?

Yes, but don’t. Just, don’t.

Install linux-lts alongside linux and keep everything up to date. Seeing as you seem to have quite a bit of trouble understanding the things attempted to be taught to you, you really do not want to go messing about.

So is crossing the street. This is why we look around us and make an informed decision before crossing.
Short version: bollocks.

Can you help me think of a reason to do that, though?

Looks like I am back in Arch forums…

Yeah that’s a little too harsh really.

I remember first time i came across concept of rolling release and asked question on it - pretty much same reception it was…

It’s hard to understand for newcomers who had previously no idea of such release system, especially if language is barrier or something like that.

I suppose so, for it would be better be on the safe side. I’ll also keep a copy of the kernel and the initframfs-linux.img somewhere.

Usually there is no reason to do that really, just LTS is more than enough (unless you’re one of very rare cases with hardware compatible only with older Kernel version)

Asking questions is not a problem at all, ignoring the answers several times and repeating the question is. Especially when done more often. Did you notice, btw, that I did actually give some useful advice (even if it was a repeat of what had already been said and ignored)? I’m ever so sorry I forgot to coat it with a thick layer of icing, though…

You can very well ignore my questions now and in the future. There are enough people here, with whom I can have a polite discussion.

Jeez, relax man :upside_down_face:

That’s exactly what i meant, and i’ve seen that situation plenty of times on different forums, it’s not that he ignore given answers - he doesn’t understand them, hence asking questions which seems logical for someone who doesn’t get what you’re saying (exactly like i did when i was learning), that’s very different in nature.

For some reason stable vs rolling is subject that always get such reception for a lot of newcomers.

It’s like answering on mandarin for someone who doesn’t know anything about chinese, if you catch my drift

Don’t worry, he’ll learn

OK, we seem to be quite a bit off-topic at this point. Since the original question asked has been answered the topic is marked as solved I am closing this one for now.
