Display port 1.2 vs 1.4

should i even consider a monitor with a display port version 1.2?

i’m looking at 32 inch 1440p monitors with 1 ms response time and displayport 1.4 for under 400$ looking. hard to find…

Sceptre 30-inch Curved Gaming Monitor 21:9 2560x1080 Ultra Wide Ultra Slim HDMI DisplayPort up to 200Hz Build-in Speakers, Metal Black (C305B-200UN)

is not 32 inches and is 412.50

Sounds like a lotta bang for the buck. Does anyone even use built-in speakers? Presumably if you’re gaming you’d be using a headset anyway?

If it’s for gaming you could check this one https://www.mi.com/global/monitor34/

It’s not 1 ms response time but 4 ms for the rest it seems to be ok !
You have HDMI 2.0 x 2 / DP1.4 port x 2 / AUDIO port x 1 / AC power cable IN port x 1

They announced it at 369 Euros in France so I imagine it will be on sell very soon…

If you are looking for the best Photo Monitor EIZO or BENQ but the price is really UP than yours, at minimum the double !

I’ve got the BenQ 35" EX3501R. An older, but still brilliant display. It’s only 100Hz refreshrate, but IMO for my gaming anything north 100 Hz is a waste. Great quality all purpose display. This one is still being sold for over 600 euros in Finland, which is crazy. I actually paid around 700 for mine. Add a monitor arm and the VESA adapter and it’s closer to 800.

Every monitor is advertised as 1ms nowadays. Find out about frame-time latency if you can.

For example the 1080p 27" 75Hz Freesync Samsung monitor i bought recently (out of sudden necessity and 2nd monitor use for when i get something more expensive) is advertised as 1ms but my frame times are around 25ms.

Sadly none list that

Not all advertise 1msrt. Some show 5 or 6
