I don’t have much space at home either. Therefore, my bike is stored on a rack of maximum height, and my wife’s bike is under it.

Built a prototype: something to hold my solar powerbank and my phone, on which I use osmand to navigate whilst riding my bicycle.
The phone gets the energy from the powerbank, the powerbank gets energy from the sun (if the sun shine) .
I scavenged the quick release lock of an old bike, and all other parts from things i had laying around.
August 6, 1990 I moved from Illinois (flat as a pancake) to the Eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Where there is no flat terrain. Middle September 1990 I bought a Nishiki Mountain Bike. Pretty crude by today’s standards. A new hobby was born.

It got a little tense when the Ram showed up. My son-in-law decided to just walk away until they finished crossing the road.
Shortly there after, I combined Geocaching with cycling. A ton of fun.

Bicycling = 2027 miles 193 days out of a 365 day year.
Walking = 773.5 miles 221 days out of a 365 day year.
Looking forward to many more days this ‘New’ year doing both. Not too bad for 73 year old.
I’ll be 74 this ‘New Year’ on Jan. 2. As long as I don’t get run over by ‘idiot’ drivers doing both this would be another ‘good’ year. Aging comes on fast along with the onset of disease because of lifestyle. It’s never too late to change bad habits.

Thank you for your kind words. . . . cycling and walking are life savers. I find keeping track of these activities a useful means to gauge my progress as time passes by. Using the computer also keeps my mind active. All of these have been beneficial in their own ways.

I cycle and walk a lot as well. And I ride on my trusty old inline skates. As they say: walking and biking each day, keeps the doctor away.

Nice bike. . . you could probably kick some butt with this bike. . . those 700C tires and the narrow tread width make for some fast ,smooth, rolling as you petal down the road. . . Safe cycling to you. . . I experience insane motorists most every day I cycle. I mounted a rear view mirror on my crash helmet. Vehicles coming from behind get my full attention.

I set the wheels up for tubeless and replaced the stock tires with Continental GP 5000 S TR. I also have a rear view mirror replacing the handlebar end cap on the left side. Definitely feels lighter than my gravel bike. I just need to get my butt back in shape now
Just discovered this thread. Two of my favorite things–bikes and Linux.
After a damp and dismal holiday weekend here in Upstate NY, it’s beginning to look seasonal again. Which means that starting next week I’ll be doing our weekly outreach at a nearby farmer’s market. Trailer is full of books. Panniers are empty for purchases.
I’ve been car-free since the 90s. This bike is one of two I have that fit studded snow tires for winter. In summer, I swap the studs for street slicks and tow the trailer for work. I don’t always use this one though.
Someone once told me that you can’t tow a utility trailer with a road bike. Whenever someone tells me I can’t do something, my reply is always, “Watch me”.
That, BTW, is my other bike that can fit studded snow tires.
