Posting a picture (exact copy of mine) of this automatic bicycle that I have owned since 1999. ( paid around 230$ at the time )
It’s a complete automatic operation due to centrifuge forces. I still use it in 2023.
In the first week, a did a 60 km ride in the mountains in Valcartier village, Tewksburry, Stoneham, and back to the base, near Quebec city, where I was at the time.
I never tough it would be so reliable after 24 years … (well, i take good care of it).
It’s a bit like the Energizer bunny … it goes, and goes, and goes …
Enjoy
They are quite popular with people who haven’t seen them operate …
There’s a funny - rattttta ratttttta ta rattttaa sound when it’s about to change gear.
People like to see the mechanism of the plate that gets pushed with 3 nylon pistons as speed is generated.
There was a mountain bike also from the same company iirc with the same mechanism.
Fun!
Santa brought me an Insta360 X3 camera for Christmas. Got it mounted to my front rack and did a low-quality test video. This is going to be fun to take bikepacking
Image quality looks good and so does the stabilization. No major bumps or vibration. I bought a AKASO Brave 7LE camera and mounted it to my handle bars with some of the attachments. I took a complete (over 1-hr) trek on my 10.5 mile bike jaunt that I do. Using Kdenlive I then proceeded to change the video format and added music and voice soundtrack to the video which was re-compiled in the new format by Kdenlive. Did a wonderful job. Lot’s of fun and something to do on the computer and on the bike. Thanks for sharing.
I used the Insta360 Studio that could be downloaded from their site. It’s for Windows, but runs OK on Lutris. I haven’t actually considered if the recording format would be supported by any open source options. I’ll look into that.
In the process of preparing his wife’s bike for its first season, i removed 2.78 kg from it and installed 2 kg of other equipment.
That is, I switched from 2x8 to 1x11. It’s easier and clearer for a rider.
Shimano Deore M5100 switch. Cassette 11-40. It’s not the most optimal combination, but it works well.
Now we can say with great confidence that the bike has found its final appearance
