I think a very large part of the hate is blown way out of proportion. It certainly has its share of bugs, but I’ve got 180+ hours in the game and have enjoyed the fuck out of it.

Well…It really more like ZZZ title anyway, but still it will be very funny when it come up as open-source one day somewhere

Probably fans will fix it better than devs ever could :frog:

This brings the notion of modding support to a whole new level. ROFL

There are not many big game developers that support the idea of DRM free games. And having the reputation damaged by this kind of action is not good (in long run).

On the other hand they may get much bigger development/beta-tester team now.

Yep, you’re right - the only reason i couldn’t care less, if they weren’t the ones behind greatness of GOG…
Otherwise - good riddance!

P.S. The real victim here is Keanu Reeves, one thing is some modders fun and all…
But now he’s doomed to appear in some 8k VR-porn

Yes, because people keep preordering games and buying them as soon as they are released.

If nobody preordered games, and 9 out of 10 people who would buy the game just after release waited 2-3 months after release to buy it (basically, the time it takes for it to get cracked), very few game developers would bother with implementing DRM.

DRM exists just so the game does not get pirated the first couple of months after release. That’s why all game marketing is just hype, hype, hype… Which translates to: “give us money right now, before the reviews are out and you realise it’s a crappy product and a waste of money, and that you could have gotten a pirated copy for free, which is exactly how much our unfinished, buggy mess of a game is worth.”

After that, however, the consoomer is stuck with an inferior product and a slightly thinner wallet. And frankly, he deserves it. What sucks is that nobody will get a good product, because of people like that, who fall for the marketing. There is simply no need to cater to the audience that expects a quality product, because the preorder fools will pay for anything anyway, as long as there is enough hype. Soyberpunk is the best example of this to date.

Not sure what happened, but I tried playing again this weekend and it crashes when I go to the inventory, had no issues few months ago. I’ll have to try multiple variants of proton and see if I can get it working properly.

It’s pretty hard to decide if that’s the game or Proton, i bet the game this time

P.S. But still, make sure you do NOT use experimental version of Proton in Steam’s settings

Have you tried the lastest version of Glorious Eggroll? :dumpling: :fortune_cookie: :sushi: :bento: :chopsticks:

I want to try with that and proton-tkg, got both installed. Maybe tomorrow night if I have some time.
