Cursor smaller before SDDM launch

So, I have my cursor size set as I want it in Plasma and SDDM. This works fine and I have no problem with it, but immediately prior to SDDM launching on boot, the cursor size is smaller. When SDDM opens, the cursor is enlarged to the size that I have configured for SDDM.

I’m wondering why this happens? The cursor is also smaller in Inkscape for no discernible reason, so I’m wondering if this is related.

That’s how it rolls…KDE is a bit of a mess.
You may be able to fix it by:

Settings → Startup and shutdown → Login screen (SDDM) → Apply Plasma settings… → Apply

You misunderstand; the cursor size is normal in SDDM, but there is a flash of a smaller cursor before SDDM kicks in.

Oh…Then i have no idea how to fix it.
Probably it happens even before system detects monitor dpi

Edit /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme

Comment out Inherits=Adwaita with a # at the beginning of the line and than add either

Inherits=breeze_cursors

or

Inherits=Breeze_Snow

for the dark or light breeze cursor.

If you’re using a different cursor then substitute that for the above.

That wasn’t it either. The theme is right; it’s the size that’s wrong. I noticed just now that the cursor is smaller before SDDM loads, then it changes to the correct size, but in the time between SDDM closing and Plasma starting, the mouse shrinks again. It’s very odd.
