@joekamprad Perhaps if you PM’d me I could respond to that?
seems it is restricted to send me direct messages… i was not aware as i got messages from users all the time. you see the button as of you are a mod other users may have a level to do so…

and… secure boot is in use? or not fully disabled? seems it is blocking the nvidiamodule as o f prperitary unsigned:

seems there is no Bios update made since you got this device?
https://support.hp.com
Secure boot should be disabled. Here’s a pic
As for updating the BIOS, I’ve never done that before… that’s going to be fun to figure out
Oh so HP gives me the BIOS update information if I tell it I’m running Windows 10, but if I tell it I’m running Windows 11, it doesn’t… it couldn’t be simple, could it
the output still is strange if no secure boot is used…
try to only sleect windows 11 also in the version dropdown:
Whoops, I was looking at the wrong Obelisk. Downloaded the bios thing and:
(left application is the bios thing, right is a thing that just shows system information)
84FE vs 84FD, perhaps it’s thinking it’s a different motherboard?
Downloaded it even though it’s Windows 11 and not 10. BIOS update is currently installing
BIOS update installed. Issue is not fixed
Jumping in late here. Have you tested with the EndeavourOS Live ISO?
Also, DVI can be a fiddly standard as it comes in various forms. Might you have a DisplayPort to HDMI lead or adapter you could test instead?
Went ahead and bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable…
WHY DOES THIS FIX IT?!
IT WORKS!
ALL OF THIS NVIDIA CRAP AND THIS IS HOW IT GETS FIXED?!
sigh
Thanks! Seriously.
Was a lucky guess on my part. Seemed prudent to check the low hanging fruit first though. It’s sometimes easy to forget things external to the OS, when we participate in an OS specific forum
Don’t forget to mark the solution
reminds my on what happens to me while still using a nvidia 3060 as main display driver. displays only had hdmi and i got asll sort of issues all the time… order changed or one does not power on while the DM was running e.t.c… after connecting them with a dp to hdmi adapter this issues gone away…
Solution:
Swap DVI->HDMI cable with DisplayPort->HDMI cable
