Choices, choices

These are our normal prices here from a computer parts store. They are the largest distributor with stores all across Canada since 1991. Everything on Amazon is a rip off.

Edit: Just use the drop down menu and select computer components. See for yourself.

Oh wow. Okay that’s it, I’m moving to Canada

Anything you need! They have it. They have a lot of stores & Head office is also close in another city.

I’m wistfully browsing their site, very impressive.

They are the best prices in Canada usually. There is also https://www.newegg.ca/

Edit: newegg also have a US site .com/

AMD is supposed to have a RX 6500XT coming out soon.

I have this GPU, it’s pretty good for 1080p…
But it’s the red devil from powercolor

I think Asrock is Asus’s cheaper line?

So much food for thought. Honestly I think I’ll take the leap of faith and order the prebuilt PCSpecialist rig. Seems to tick all the boxes and has a degree of future proofing too.

I really don’t know… What I heard is that Saphire and Powercolor are known to make better cards, but this may be a rumor…
What I know is that the 6600xt is really simple and doesn’t get hot compared to the stronger GPUs, so I would pick the cheaper one… I think that’s ok.
I would also watch a review before buying just to be sure

Not sure. I know the name but that’s about all. It did remind me of Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys though

Thanks, yes I’ll be taking in as much info as possible before buying.

I can play Battlefield 2042 @ 1080p @ high settings at 100 fps.
I enabled that feature Smart Memory Access.

Sounds interesting. Will those settings be available if I’m using it on EndeavourOS Plasma?

That is a good question, using Windows to play games and EnOS for everything else…

I’m sure it will give good performance, I’ve had nothing but that since I started gaming on Linux.

It will, don’t worry…
You will need a 550 or 600W PSU to power that card.
My CPU is a 5600x, and it pushes that GPU to it’s limit…
The price is that it’s not good, the market is broken right now…
