there is a Bios/GRUB
How about this?
There should be /boot/efi
So you need to check the hard drive if itâs gpt and is your computer set to UEFI only not UEFI Legacy.
Be right back.
Should be like this.
When set right the mount points show /boot/efi and /
The computer has to boot in UEFI mode in order to install on UEFI.
Took forever but how about this
Yes! Now you got it. This is basically to see if it will write to the drive since it was corrupted and wrong settings.
Edit:
We didnât create any swap partition or swap file but that can be done later.
Going to hit next nowâŚgive me a minute
What the !?@?#?!?
I should of bought a SeaGate!!
Okay close that up and open gparted and lets create a new gpt and try again. When you get into the manual partitioning screen it would be unallocated. You may have to click on the bottom left New Partition Table and select GPT or GUID partition. Then edit it the same as you did before to create the efi and / partitions. Even if this doesnât work. This will teach you how it works.
Ok, going back at it.
So I did this without going into the installer. Should I now go into the installer and click âmanualâ and change the flags?
If this last attempt doesnât work I guess try downloading another ISO and create a new live USB. Try it again and if it doesnât work then maybe what i would do is partition the drive with a smaller size for the install such as make the root only 500 GB and leave the rest of the drive unallocated. Maybe the Calamres installer doesnât like big drives. I donât know why it should matter but Iâve seen lots of strange things.
Edit: It worked on the 2 TB didnât it?
Was flawless with the 2TB
WD drives are pretty reliable . Very strange indeed.
So should I go âmanualâ and just change the flags?
You can do what ever you like. If you want to just try erase disk this time thatâs fine also. It should work either way. Usually when there is trouble i always create a new GPT but not over & over again, But we didnât have the correct set up at first .
Cool.
