I didn’t say that. In fact I stated in a comment it was based solely on my preference.
And as FHS states - very explicit - you can do what ever you want - the FHS exist so developers and packages has a guideline where to place common files - not to usurp sys admins…
Nothing more - nothing less - you can choose any structure that fits your needs.
