Don’t know if it has anything to do with the issue. But in the pacman.log I can see that the date May 26 when problems started that there is a lot of “can not write to disk - disk is full” warnings. I’m supposed to have 40 gb free but when i run this command
du -h /var/cache/pacman/pkg
11G /var/cache/pacman/pkg
Could clearing the cache solve anything?
Yes, if your disk is full or failing that could certainly cause issues. If write failures occurred during an update that would be even worse.
Try running this in the chroot and sharing the output:
paccheck --quiet --sha256sum
Not unless you are actually out of disk space(or very low) currently.
[root@EndeavourOS /]# paccheck --quiet --sha256sum

Try reinstalling intel-ucode
Then run grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Reinstalled intel-ucode
and this is what the next one says:
[root@EndeavourOS /]# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
/usr/bin/grub-mkconfig: line 265: /boot/grub/grub.cfg.new: No such file or directory
Ahh…ls -l /boot
[root@EndeavourOS /]# ls -l /boot

Were you not using grub or did you have a separate partition for /boot?
It’s a dual boot together with osx. When linux works it automatically boots in grub only showing the endeavouros, and if I power on with the “ALT” key it starts up in the mac bootloader where I can choose either mac or linux
Your grub directory is missing. I was trying to consider why that might be.
Also, your ucode file was missing so something happened to /boot possibly. That was why I was wondering if you had another partition mounted there.
when I try reboot now it comes up with grub, but stops after loading kernel and loading ramdisk
Well, you don’t currently have a grub config file.
I would try reinstall grub(Using grub-install, not the package.)
If this is an EFI system make sure that your EFI partition is mounted in the chroot.
Did you do a MacOS update in-between, before the OP error occured?
no I didn’t, can’t update that anymore…too old
You have your ESP mounted at /boot. That isn’t normal for EOS. Did you do that manually or is that a mistake you made setting up the chroot?
Yes, is it wrong? I did sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/boot before arch-chroot
