Sad news
RIP Bram Moolenaar
vim has been my go-to editor for both professional and personal use. I am sad to see such a good guy go. He always had charity in mind, and his push for childrens charity has inspired many people to donate to make the world a little better.
Rest in peace, Bram.
R.I.P. Bram
I started using Vim in late 2021 and it was pain to learn, but these days every other editor feels wrong.
So RIP Bram and thank you for everything you have done to world of open source!
Thank you Mr. Moolenaar, RIP
Our much loved VIM …
Big difference between VI on Sco Unix, and VIM on EOS: colors for code.
Skills learned on VI on UNIX: still very useful on VIM … GNU/Linux.
Ex: (minor french accents ajustements today)
My self made tool in 2001-2002. Still working from Bourne shell to Bash shell today.
