Booting reached target Graphical Interface then continue blinking

Wonder what happens if you run pacman -S xf86-video-nouveau

You could also install the nvidia drivers manually.

pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-libgl nvidia-settings

No difference from installing xf86-video-nouveau. Although all the packages (nvidia nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-libgl nvidia-settings) are installed.

They may be installed but i wanted to reinstall them because it doesn’t show them as loading.

If you run this it shows.

EDIT: Add code tag

Is there a way to load them manually?

Can you edit the posts to include code tags around the output or i could do it for you if you like.

Not that i know of.

It shows it’s that nouveau driver is loaded not the nvidia drivers. You also have to have a way to switch to nvidia since this is a hybrid laptop such as optimus-manager or other. Otherwise it only renders on the intel driver.

Did you ever use nvidia? I’m not sure if your hardware has a setting in the bios for hybrid, dedicated or integrated either?

Edit: Did you try installing the nvidia drivers manually as i suggested?

I do use optimus manager, by default, it loads intel’s on booting.

I used to use Nvidia or hybrid, but I don’t think this’s the problem.

Yes, I treid.

Take a look at the following videos, https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18eFWrAOTTDsHrJfyx9QrXcCGR8dFANte?usp=sharing
The BeforeD is when the laptop was first booted, and the AfterD was after removing docker from chroot, this may provide some helpful notes. I don’t think it’s Nvidia problem

I see but it doesn’t really help me. I don’t use docker and i don’t know what you have done exactly that caused this other than you said you removed docker when from arch-chroot. :man_shrugging:

Sorry, not from chroot, I removed it from the main OS using chroot.

Not sure if I can access more valuable information. If I boot into the main OS, and the dashed (-) [AfterD] screen appeared, if I clicked the power off button, the first thing it will stop is Light display manager. I think the issue could be from what is suppose to run after Light display manager since they are being turned off in reverse order.

Is lightdm enabled? I’m not sure why you can’t get into a tty from booting on the OS. Have you tried all fkeys you could?

systemctl status lightdm

You could try systemctl restart lightdm

Can’t do either from chroot, they are being ignored since I am running in chroot. But running systemctl is-enabled lightdm outputs enabled.

Yes, I can open the console for only a second, then the frame refresh itself and return me to the blinking black screen

What setting are you running in the bios? Maybe try change it?

Though, if I disable lightdm, it boots me straight to tty,

I was running with the same settings over several months, nothing that I changed, safe boot is off

No i mean can you try changing to integrated instead or hybrid or something ?

GPU settings? I change them with optimus manager, not the bios. I can access tty after disabling lightdm

If you can access tty right now can you run an update?
