Hi. I have a question if it is possible what application or process eats battery while computer is sleeping?
Overnight, eOS with Gnome 42.1 uses 80% of the battery to completely drain, while Window 10 only uses 5%. This is unacceptable for me. New laptop bought 6 months ago.
Thank you for the information.

I am facing the same issue with my laptop, did you find any solution?
It depends on your hardware. Windows managed to screw sleep mode in bios for certain vendors and laptop models, see my post here.
I was wondering, how do you deal with the deep sleep issue in bios?
Windows has apparently managed to introduce a new suspend mode similar to what happens on cellphones, meaning the computer drains more battery than conventual suspend (aka deep sleep S3) so it can retrieve emails and other things like that while in sleep/suspend mode.

What that means for Linux, that the computer drains battery while on sus…
To me it’s non sense, if you got one of those, then yeah windows beats linux. My carbon X1 loses less than few percent overnight in sleep mode.
What hardware?
