I thought you said it was geeky…

I thought you said it was geeky…

Please note (you probably did already…) that English is not my native language.
I need to urgently clarify – in no way was i mocking you, & i sincerely apologise that my attempted irony failed so badly. I was admiring your suggestion specifically because it is geeky, just as you said. Clearly i need to stick with my day job, sorry.
No worries mate!
It was clear to me that you were not mocking or anything like that.
I’m also learning English here along the way. Especially various sayings that are not easily understood if you don’t talk to (natively speaking) people every day…
Hmm apparently that plugin’s 4years old and has not been updated for the last 5 months. It’s possible there won’t be a fix.
@Bryanpwo is there a way you can safely add a few lines of javascript to the forum? I could write a small block of code that would add the missing tooltips.
Did they answered you on Discourse about the alt="[country_code]" variable that is missing ?
I did something fast to push the code on the forum but wait for this variable !
There is .location class that I found when you click on the user profil if the user added his country…
@FLVAL are you talking to me? cos i’m not sure i know what you mean.
Is not you @anon31549144 that pushed the PR on Discourse for tooltip on country flag ?
No, I just made a request for such a change, but i don’t know ruby. I was inviting anyone who knows to make a pull request.
Ha ok, yes the problem is about this variable about countryflags that missing…to call it…
I will look for that when the migration is done. At this moment I’m installing the new server and I’m reading in on how to migrate the Discourse forum.
What would a geek do?
I wrote a very simple FF addon to show country names between the username and the flag. Its not on the store, so manual installation the way.
An example screenshot:

Edit: I’m absolutely not a geek btw.
So here we are now. The flags now show a tooltip if hovered for a few seconds.
Requires logout
Absolutely excellent – thank you!

A page reload/refresh should do the same?
Certainly that’s all it took for me.

Don’t mention it, it was just a 2 x geekier way to do the same as right click inspect element
Now you finally know where you’re from!
So does this mean it’s time to begin a new game of Where’s Wally?
