New Zealand? Also South Korea, Taiwan… those countries have been doing well as well.
We were already heading that direction. Covid is being an accelerator now.
All the places that did it.
Harder the lockdown, worse it gets.
Here in Brazil, the supreme court decided that the actions and restrictions laws are not made by the president anymore, which means that we had a lot of states that took different actions.
Where the lockdown is harder, worse it gets…
Some of our mayors were asking the police to beat or use shock guns in people when they were at the beach… It’s just insane.
They are destroying lifes… more than the covid.
My post was flagged… strange, I was speaking about my own country…
Potentially fiery subject. Like any other one these days. I mean … you can’t even discuss a DE without hell breaking loose
We must live our lives, believing that better days will come.
Strength is what we need.
Never give up the fight
How dare you speak the truth about your experience,?!
Oh no no no, we must (NOT) obey only official CCP (sorry i meant CDC / WHO of course ) headlines
Especially if it contradicts with what you’re seeing with your own eyes.
What a
Shame on those who censor, especially in such desperate times.
P.S. I’ve heard exactly same stuff from my friends in
Hang on in there brother!
no politics here please
And yes legal quarantine decrees are political decisions, to discuss such things there are other places on the Internet.
Well, literally everywhere?
Sorry but freedom of speech is still alive ans well in many parts of the world including the U.S… Common sense is something that less than 5% of the people have, it’s always been that way. Freedom has been under attack since LONG before the U.S. existed.
Gobble Gobble
Yes, everywhere… I’m not a doctor, or an infection diseases expert, I just don’t trust TV.
If you now a place that the deaths per million is lower with these actions, please tell me and then I may change my view about the subject
Big techies let just one side speaks… It’s hard to speak about this and respect the forum rules…
Twitter is censoring, I’ve heard of one person that got censored 65 times, and his opponent, none.
I’m from NZ.
We had an early lockdown, followed by a second one at the next wave. I disagreed with it then and now. It was an effective tool for a socialism take over here, and there are many suffering due to the loss of work and subsequent depression.
I don’t understand the ridiculous inconsistency of the whole mask-wearing business either, as they have been proven to be completely ineffective, when those wearing total PPE have contracted the virus. We were told at the beginning they were ineffective, then we were told that we had to wear them…what the?
And why haven’t these incredible economic shutdowns occurred for influenza? That is far more communicable and deadly.
This and more…so yeah, I’m feeling down that our media and sheep are blindly following those that are blindly doing what the WHO tells them to.
scientists did now tests and simulations about the effectiveness of droplet spread, back then it was unclear how the virus spreads and the government tried to avoid people hording ppa like they did with toilet paper, so health worker can at least get some protection. Its not 100% but reduces the chances to about 75% depending on distance between people and mask type, and ventilation. Our best bet is listening to scientists, I am one (although not medical) and most of us do not our job for big money or politics but rather to help people or society. I highly doubt a global conspiracy to cripple our economy.
People loosing their jobs is bad, I understand that many may be angry because of lockdowns, but its nothing to do with socialism, its a global pandemic and at the moment is worse than influenza, with 260k+ people died in the US in less than a year. Its sad.
With that being said, I wish everyone the best and hopefully can find some comfort/rest for the mind with cool linux stuff in this forum or whatever helps.
From the outside, those numbers make it look like the lockdown was pretty effective, actually. Of course, I am somewhat biased by being in a group that are a bad risk if infected - being older, overweight, diabetic, a smoker and with a history of heart trouble I have to hope it gets under control soon Every time a lockdown gets eased, people quit caring about it - and boom - back it comes…
I sure hope an effective treatment and/or vaccine arrives soon - and things can start on the upward path again.
Yeh, fully aware that the figures look great for those that wanted to stop the initial community spread of a virus. The thing is, that the virus has not proven to be anywhere near as lethal as all the fear-mongering made it out to be. And the virus will spread regardless of lockdowns eventually, just as the 'flu does.
Whilst I agree that effective treatments would be great for all diseases, I am dubious of vaccines because of terrible adverse experiences with them myself, where the side effects were worse than the supposed cure. I agree with the cry to have the vaccine manufacturers held accountable for their products just like every other producer (currently they aren’t). Anyways, this is severe divergence from topic
Thailand locked down hard at the end of March for 6 weeks but after that everything got back to normal except for people wearing masks… since then we have single digit community spread.
Personally I support it as while tourism has been destroyed the rest of the economy has been able to rebound.
It’s nice to go about my daily life without worrying about catching it and infecting people who would be likely to die. Plus as a domestic tourist I’ve been able to take advantage of some ridiculous promotions.
1.) One can not discuss with the virus.
2.) The virus needs us to exist (might also jump over to other species). Mutations are common.
3.) Only reducing contacts or vaccine will help. Time will also help, but with toooo many deads.
Now a simple example:
A party with 24 people, all talking to each other. That means:
- 23 x 23 = 529 (human contacts)
Instead make 2 parties with 12 people each party:
- 2 x (11 x 11) = 242 (human contacts)
All we can do is reducing contacts and wait for the vaccine.
Personal experience might varay a lot and the situation is existentially threatening for many, but fact is fact.
Someone has to lead the goat herd.
Be calm and patient, the best we can do now.
