Ok, then maybe it’s better to trigger some notification each time you visit offending website, youtube in that case.
It should be fairly easy to do, once youtube url is triggered say something like:
STOP IT!!!11111
through notification system

To watch youtube videos without all the advertising and garbage just do a quick search.
Watch YouTube videos using MPV player
Other video players work as well.
You can also use the firewall on your router to block certain URLs. You could have a friend change the password to access the router and not let you know it. You will still be able to access the blocked URLs using data traffic on your phone, though. There is always a way around every block, as people in China and Russia know.
This is not about ads.
so if i edit the file in root user and logged into other user, will i not be able to edit the file in that other user even if i knew sudo password?
If your user can use sudo, that account will be able to edit that file. Only the users without sudo privilege will not be able to edit it.
ah i see. I don’t use my phone since i locked my phone completely for like a week. Ill try using the firewall method. Thanks.
ah so if i create a new user without sudo privleges, i wouldn’t be able to edit the file in the new user right?
Yes, while logged in as that user, you won’t be able to use sudo or polkit, and you won’t be able to edit that file.
Okay then, ill use this method and the firewall one too.
