And back at it again. We really need some rain soon. I just told some of my team to head home and to call if I need to book them a hotel. This is getting freaking old. Over 5000 acres in a few hours. . . .
winds steady at 25 it says right now. I’m a state away, I have people there too…what a season I’ve not seen anything like it.
Just for reference, these fires aren’t that uncommon here on dry winters. These aren’t even the worst fires I’ve seen in the area.
The Woolsey Fire in 2018 was far worse than this. It burned nearly 100,000 acres by itself.
Just in relation to how big it was. All of the fires we had so far these few weeks. The Palisades and Eaton fires. And now this Hughes fire and ALL others combined are only still at about 45,000. Woolsey by itself was twice as big, and there were other fires that year also. This isn’t even close to my worst fire year. That part is news media hype.
It’s still very bad though.
