Access to a (Win) filesystem - with the Endeavour-Live-DVD -

Try…
sudo mount /dev/sda2 /mnt
then browse to /mnt in the File manager

dear Knome - many thanks - i do so

image

well / i guess that i have to try in the read only mode… what do you guess

Either reboot it as a Windows machine and shutdown fully or move on to some form of data rescue.
There are data rescue tools but use professional data rescue if you don’t know what you are doing.

This is why you disable the fast startup feature on Windows in power management as it uses hiberfile. Or it was hibernated.

Edit: If it were me i would download and create the latest Windows 10 ISO and try to boot off of it and run the startup repair.

hello dear Ricklinux

many thanks / great hints / i have those dvds here around

first lemme show what else i have tried

i tried to run gio open /mmt

Code: Select all

sudo ntfs-3g -o remove_hiberfile /dev/sda2 /mnt

gio open /mnt

hi there good day dear ricklinux

i corrected the command to the gio open

when running this command i get back this image … which pops up

in the bottomline of the window we can read the following …Loading folder content … but honestly … nothing happens here…

Have you not tried going to the Windows 10 site and creating a live usb and then boot on it and run the repair on your Windows install so you can boot into Windows?
