A little warning for new users who installed Deepin

I always use the VboxSVGA and 3D and don’t have any issues. Just on this new deepin.

i will test this here…

i see deepin-mutter is not in the deepin groups anymore, but deepin-kwin is also not there

Hmm…I see just the opposite. deepin-kwin is in the deepin group and deepin-mutter is still a dependency of deepin-wm

So, for me, they are both there currently. I haven’t looked in testing yet.

I have to say the more time I spend with DDE, the more bugs I find.

It is definitely usable but it is not a polished experience by any means. I haven’t done the research to determine how much of this is due to Arch packaging challenges and how much is due to upstream bugs in DDE.

i do just install deepin and deepin-mutter is not installed here and also deepin-wm is not there

Yes, I am seeing the same now. The dependency on deepin-wm has been removed in it’s entirety. This is actually quite awesome because it means most of the gnome stuff is no longer needed as well.

Are you still seeing that deepin-kwin is missing?

no deepin-kwin was added to deepin package group now…

yes it do not need this stuff anymore, not 100% ready but seems to pass the way to solve this stuff

The old version was good on my hardware. This version is not at all and i’ve tried it on both systems. It’s not the same at all. It freezes and is unusable. Both high end with one being Intel with Nvidia and the other is AMD Ryzen with Radeon.

Since you are just using a VM would you like to try a different ISO?

Why not…i have tried many times. What’s a few more? I thought maybe it’s v-box but no it’s on bare metal and anything.

I assume you’ll have to buy some new hardware to get it running. :sunglasses:

I don’t think so. Both machines are running 4-5 Ghz with 32GB memory good video. Open SUSE Tumbleweed KDE is smooth as silk. :smirk:

Usually we Germans are considered to have a lack of humour. I roughly knew what hardware you are using.

What - you didn’t jump on this as an excuse to get more and newer stuff? Shocking… :smirk:
I’m looking for an excuse myself - maybe a new mobo for one that seems to be overheating without symptoms or reason… maybe a 570 s I have an excuse for hi-per m.2 drive  Only problem is I don’t think it’ll run Deepin!

I’m the type that gets the hammer out when things don’t work. But I’m not going to ruin $3000 worth of hardware. lol :anguished:

Bad luck. No deepin, no new hardware.

Don’t be so sure! I still might get an AMD thread-ripper! Torvolds just switched to the AMD 3970 32 core 64 thread.

Edit: Even if i can’t install Deepin on it!

Does it run Crysis? :upside_down_face:
