Zfs root encryption broken with endeavour zfs-utils

Hey all,

My systems all use ZFS root and native encryption, and it’s been nice that endeavour includes the important packages for this (zfs-dkms and zfs-utils) in the repo proper. however, there’s been a recent update to zfs-utils that breaks this. Comparing this to the package in the archzfs repo with the same version, it looks like the mkinitcpio hooks and install in the endeavour package are newly missing all the logic to deal with passwords on boot.

Can we get whoever’s responsible for that package to take a look and sync it up with the archzfs upstream? It broke two of my systems in the last week, and took ages for me to figure out what was going on.

thanks!

Those are based on the AUR PKGBUILDs so they should match whatever is there.

Are you seeing differences between AUR and endeavouros?

archzfs isn’t really “upstream”. It is just a separate repo.

oh, I thought archzfs was maintained by OpenZFS folks, which would put it upstream. who does maintain it if it isn’t OpenZFS? in any case, I’ll check AUR and see if it has the same issues.
