I had definitely not heard about this one. But, hey, I have not heard about so many other things either ![]()
Was supposed to be the next generation web engine for Fiirefox, until the Mozilla Foundation decided they had not enough money to give to the project.
Sticking with Librewolf for now. Runs uBlock Origin and doesn’t play havoc with the few other plugins I have loaded. Can’t ask for better than that.
Mozilla foundation is going to face this issue going forward even more acutely. If Google falters then it is has no other funding source to turn to. Mozilla needs additional revenue stream and that too quickly.
Too much dependency on Mozilla’s part.
I think that mozilla and specific Firefox needs backing from big organizations, but hear me out as i suspect thinking about MS Meta or other ‘Shit’
For example free software foundation, bits of freedom, EU, US, Linux foundation, Apache. Even Red hat or Ubuntu might even in that list
That way Firefox can offer Firefox as a alternative for Chromium based browsers
as i am a European an even better alternative (for me) would be a browser supported by European Union.
It is a just a thought, and my whole point is that if Firefox bites the dust there is no more choice as all alternatives are based on Firefox or Chromium.
