looks like i had local 107-1 which one is newer than this one who comes with the new update 106-1 whats that mean and did i have to do something to fix it or just to let it go like that ?

If you have the LTS kernel and another kernel and you switch between them, then downgrading is recommended because in certain circumstances the LTS kernel won’t boot.

To downgrade run yay -Syuu

Thank you i downgrade it

I just left it be (not running LTS), and patiently wait for the upgrade. Hasn’t made any problems on upgrades/new software installs yet. (EOS/Cinnamon)

Well, I’m using the zen kernel as my daily driver and I’ve got the regular kernel installed as well as a backup, but not the LTS kernel.
I’m just going to check if the regular kernel could be mounted.

OS: EndeavourOS x86_64
Kernel: Linux 6.14.6-arch1-1.1
Uptime: 33 seconds

Nope, no issues here, both kernels work just fine.
Therefore I don’t see a reason to downgrade and will leave it as is.

half a dozen reboots later …

Fallbacks are also not being affected, booting into snapshots via the grub menu also works just fine as it seems like.

It is only the LTS kernel combined with another kernel. It is because the LTS kernel has a different module config than the other kernels.
