Not sure exactly what the nvidia change entails, but just curious if this will mess with my steam games cause I have it setup the way I like it right now.

No, those are not driver packages, nvidia-inst is a tool that lets you install and remove the drivers.
That won’t hurt anything.

If you already have your drivers installed and everything works fine, there is no reason to keep nvidia-inst package installed. Just remove it, it serves no purpose, and it will just slow down your updates. If you ever need it again, it’s easy to reinstall it.
