Not sure where else to put this, but certain screensavers have the option to grab a random wikipedia article to display as the screensaver. It returns the error: “Error loading https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:NewPages&feed=rss 501 protocol scheme https is not supported lwp protocol https not installed”
I’ve tried looking around online, and this error (independent of xscreensaver) seems to be related to the perl programming language, but I’m not a programmer so it’s a little difficult parsing out information to see what could be the solution.
I’ve tried installing perl-lwp-protocol-http10 from the aur but it didn’t seem to fix anything. I’ve also tried a regular wikipedia link and it is the same error. I’m on a new-ish install of EOS, and my previous install did not have this problem on the same hardware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if this issue requires hardware logs or any other logs but i’ll be happy to provide them if needed.
