I’ve tried looking on Google and I only got results related to external monitors or dual monitors; irrelevant for me.

I don’t know how to diagnose this.

this… but i bet the real issue is not that xrandr output is slow…

now I can roughly see what is being asked but without any further info this is still a riddle

Maybe because you have a lot of resolutions to test, and also check if the outputs are connected or not.

It’s a laptop and I have nothing connected.

It’s causing Wezterm to open extremely slowly. I already made an issue there and he said it’s not related to his terminal.

Yes, but connection tests have to be done to know which outputs are active.

I meant the driver test if the outputs are connected and all the resolutions possible, that could take some time, but in your case, real time is too long.
Mine is like this (AMD RX 570) :

If you don’t see any slowdown at the start of your graphical session, I guess it’s not important.

Issue is it’s making Wezterm very slow to start. It gets tedious to open it.

I’m going to try it in a VM and see what happens.

There is definitely something wrong with my system, because I tried in a VM and smooth as butter. Xrandr only took .011 seconds.
