Xfce4-datetime-plugin and xfwm4-themes relegated to the AUR

I ran pacman -Qm this morning and was surprised to see both xfce4-datetime-plugin and xfwm4-themes listed.

For xfce4-datetime-plugin the Xfce website says “this plugin is considered End-of-Life(EOL) . For similar functionality, consider using the built-in Clock plugin.”

@joekamprad xfce4-datetime-plugin is included in the default :enos: Xfce packages, so best to delete this. Clock is part of xfce4-panel which is included in the Arch Linux xfce4 group, so everyone should already have it.

xfwm4-themes is not in the default :enos: Xfce packages and is a collection of very old themes. If you’re looking for this in future, it’s now in the AUR, but may not be forever, as it’s currently unmaintained.

while joe try to figure what to do now:

HotFixed for new installs and new created users..

What are existing users supposed to do ? Uninstall the package ?

Up to you.

Both still work, and can be installed from the AUR on new systems. However, if you’re not using both/either of them, then you might as well uninstall them.
