XFCE Xfce4-power-manager

Hello forum, I can’t disable screen power management… After a few minutes my screen turns off and I would like to keep it on… Only when I lock XFCE, that I would like it to turn off after a few minutes, is this possible?

Already tried to disable screen saver, turn off the Display power management, or set to never in the fields as per image below…

Any ideas?

Thanks manuel

In xfce4-screensaver-preferences, tried to disable screen saver, but it didn’t work.
It seems that it doesn’t turn off…
Trying the option at the bottom of that window ‘Activate screensaver when the screen is idle’, lets see if its going to work.

In xfce4-power-manager-settings, I’ll have to wait to test, I suspect that the screensaver (black screen) is activating before the power settings

It’s working now… strange… did try these settings earlier…
Thanks manuel

@anon49550872 Happened to a machine that was used for digital signaling. Needles to say it annoyed me, because at my end the remote connection showed me that the screen was up and running, but on the other end, it was under xfce power-manager antics.
So, easy solution. Installed the nifty caffeine package and form that moment on, the power manager was overridden and the screen stayed ON.

TLDR - install caffeine application

after update to xfce4.16 it uses some kind of database for settings and backing them up, this seems to still have some little BUGS where settings do not working immediately and need system reboot or log out log back in…
