Would you run the install with these settings -

dear community

ready to install the freshly downloaded iso -
dated from 2023.03.26 - Version: 3.56.1

on a thinkpad x 220 with 4 gigs.

i think i choose LXqt as DE

questions that arise:
on other thinkpads i have set (after the install ) a swap-file
should i take into account to set up a swap partition?

  • what about grub - should i go with grub!?

plz look at this settings that are summaritzed - should i go ahead with all that

on a sidenote: of course - i will spend some more RAM soon - iwill set the RAM to 8 G in the next few weeks.

so finally: would you run the install with these settings -
and what is this - "erstelle eine neue MSDOS partition -( create a new MSDOS Partition) .,…
formerly there was a MSDOS on the machine

so i am open and look forward to hear from you

I would not run an install with that iso. The latest is 2024.06.25 - available at https://endeavouros.com/#Download

Do not know where you got that really old ISO from but you should always get the ISO from the official site.
https://endeavouros.com/

I always recommend at the least a swap file. No matter the physical memory.

During the partition you must have chosen MSDOS instead of GPT.

hi there - thank you so much thefrog for your hints.

will do as adviced!

by the way: if i fetch the iso and store it in the download Folder:

rename it ( to get a simpler handling with the following commands)

to this Name “EndeavorOS.iso”

then i go ahead with the following

sudo fdisk -l # (usb-CHECK all the things. )
umount /dev/sdb1* # (to unmount USB-flash at the beginning)
sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb1 (not necessary - since i burn a iso)
sudo dd bs=4M if=~/Downloads/EndeavorOS.iso of=/dev/sdb1 status=progress && sync

or short: like so;

sudo dd bs=4M if=/home/martin/Downloads/EndeavorOS.iso of=/dev/sda status=progresss

is this correct !?

renaming it is fine that has no issue with the ISO itself. The main thing it to make sure you have the latest ISO which for Endeavour is 2024-06-25
