WLan dropout reinstallation

I have reinstalled my notebook after the failure of my btrfs system, unfortunately I have since the dropouts in the wifi.

Here is a small summary:

--- 172.20.203.1 ping statistics ---
100 Pakete übertragen, 8 empfangen, +65 Fehler, 92% packet loss, time 100092ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.964/7.635/52.507/16.960 ms, pipe 4

172.20.203.1 is my router

Does anyone have an idea for me how I can find the problem?

What is your networks info

inxi -na
Network: Device-1: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet vendor: CLEVO/KAPOK driver: r8169 v: kernel
           port: 2000 bus-ID: 02:00.0 chip-ID: 10ec:8168 class-ID: 0200
IF: enp2s0 state: down mac: 80:fa:5b:95:79:c1
           Device-2: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 driver: iwlwifi v: kernel bus-ID: 03:00.0 chip-ID: 8086:2723 class-ID: 0280

           IF-ID-1: wwp4s0f4u2c2 state: down mac: 02:2c:80:13:92:63

but it’s also not all the time, sometimes there seems to be no problem at all for 30 minutes and then it doesn’t work at all for 3 minutes.

maybe i should add that i stop pinging after one second
but one second to the router is very much

ping -W 1 -c 100 172.20.203.1

Are you running 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz signal? Maybe try one then other and both?

I use the 5Ghz, my 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz have their own SSID’s

I’ll test it once with the 2.4Ghz now.

Just a wild guess: check for any power management settings in NetworkManager or maybe try them out as written here.

Also, out of curiousity, what CLEVO model is that laptop?

I dont know what CLEVO mean, its a Tuxedo Aura 15 Gen1

I was referring to this bit:

For the Aura 15 I haven’t heard of any wifi problems yet, but I’ll nudge tech support guys tomorrow.

Meanwhile, power management as written above might be worth a try.

yes I changed that, currently I’m still testing 2.4Ghz and that seems to run quite stable so far and tomorrow I’ll test the 5Ghz again

so far it seems to work with the 5Ghz, must be the setting wifi.powersave = 2

Cool, thanks for the feedback. Tech guys didn’t have any similar cases in the past. So that seems to be a valid solution.

Enjoy the Aura 15!

yes it is a great notebook, i’m just annoyed that it recently broke my btrfs system and now i had to reinstall it :’(
