I’d love having EndeavourOS on Pine Book. I know Arch has an ARM release, so I figured it might be worth asking if this is likely to ever be possible. I’m a total newbie when it comes to Linux on ARM so I have no clue how difficult that all is.
This post is classified under a category for “dreams and wishes” so…
This is also a wish for me in the future, but at the moment it’s not coming very soon. The problem is that you have to make a specific distro for each ARM processor. The current Arch ARM release (this is made by enthusiasts and not by ARCH) will problably not work with the upcoming Pinebook Pro, for instance. It is a lot of work to maintain and to keep it up.
Manjaro has done a lot of the heavy lifting and is now the default distro on the Pinebook Pro, maybe this could be revisited at some point? Endeavour and Pine would be a good fit together.
Manjaro, however, doesn’t really contribute code upstream into Arch ARM proper, so they are not really all that helpful to other Arch-based distros…
