Whiskermenu action EndeavourOS forum

Fresh install of EndeavourOS xfce4 the whiskermenu action “EndeavourOS forum” no longer works. Looks like it has not been setup.

You can easily configure your own search action for the EndeavourOS forums…

Right-click the Whisker menu icon and select Properties. On the Search Actions tab, click + to create a new action. Then enter these Details:

Name: EndeavourOS
Pattern: !e
Command: exo-open --launch WebBrowser https://forum.endeavouros.com/search?q=%u
Regular expression: leave unchecked

Now, to search for telnet (for example) on the EndeavourOS forums, simply type the following in the Whisker menu:

!e telnet

Edit: I’m looking now at an old (offline) installation of EndeavourOS Xfce, which did indeed come with a Whisker menu action to open the EndeavourOS forums without performing a search. To replicate that old functionality, simply configure this new action…

Name: EndeavourOS Forum
Pattern: forum
Command: exo-open --launch WebBrowser https://forum.endeavouros.com/latest
Regular expression: leave unchecked

Now, to open the EndeavourOS forums in your browser, simply type forum in the Whisker menu.

Thanks that works, but my point was that previous iso’s had this configured by default, so does this mean going forward users will have to do it themselves if they want this feature.

In previous versions XFCE was the default desktop when installing EndeavourOS, so there might be some little modyfied configurations for the greater EndeavourOS feeling. Now KDE plasma is the default desktop, and XFCE is installed “vanilla”. So, yes, users have to configure it on their own.
