I think there’s something else in play (or that + something else)
Anyways, here’s comments on current LibreWolf delay on AUR:
I’m currently waiting for the Ubuntu Xenial package for 85.0 to be ready (we are grabbing patches from that one and also using it for the tarball build for Flatpak and Appimage releases as it’s a compatibility requirement for those to be built / run on Xenial). Usually that does not take that long – unfortunately, this time it seems to take a bit longer. Once that’s ready, we’ll update the packages all around.
Should that become the norm, though, we’d have to see if we can either manually adapt the “blocking” patches or drop those blocking the release for the non-Xenial-dependent releases and have a somewhat staggered release.
TL;DR: soon, I hope
We’re using a few modifications that need to be applied before building, so we have to build from source ourselves.
I don’t like being behind on the releases either– but maybe “decoupling” things a bit (so the Arch releases, for example, can be ready earlier) might make sense ^^
